Portfolio: The Hudson River Estate

The existing integration of this historic 60-acre property on the Hudson River just north of New York City was under-engineered and barely made use of current technology. That’s when Osbee was called in.

We met with the homeowners and discussed their needs and desires, from being able to surf TV channels and listen to Howard Stern on the radio at the same time, to being able to have complete control of the property from the garage workshop. We told them all these things were doable, and explained that our biggest task was to step back and engineer a system that would provide complete control from anywhere. Because with a big estate, it’s The Big Picture that counts.

The main residence is just one of nine buildings on the expansive property. Osbee connected them all together with one simple-to-use system.

With the electronic gate openers, alarm system, intercom, and security cameras easily controlled by our Osbee Home app, entry to the estate is safe and convenient.

Touchscreen

From single multi-function keypads to touchscreens, mobile devices, and computers, it’s simple and convenient to dim lights, adjust the climate, and select a streaming channel to watch wherever you are in the residence.

The 35 motorized solar roller shades throughout the home provide comfort and protection for the furnishings and artwork in the residence. The ultra-quiet mechanisms can all be controlled by any touchscreen in the house, by local wall-mounted keypads in each of the rooms, or from the homeowners’ iPads and iPhones using the Osbee Home app custom-programmed for the estate.

The single wall-mounted keypad in the Foyer controls five different groups of light fixtures that would require several switches in more traditional installations.

The family can enjoy streaming audio and video content, 4K movies, and cable/satellite television throughout the home and grounds via the Crestron DigitalMedia™ audio and video distribution system.

At one of the two outdoor entertainment areas on the estate, Osbee integrated a 98-inch TV and weatherproof outdoor speakers to create a casual home theater that’s perfect for relaxing get-togethers with friends and family on warm summer evenings.
