Osbee replaced the standard-issue TV, cable box, DVD, stereo system, and light switches with a fully-engineered media and lighting control system designed to match the high-end architecture and finishes in the home. Once the couple experienced the convenience of an Osbee system in their Bedroom, they decided to fully integrate the rest of their home.
All the lighting is controlled by a central processor, giving the family the ability to adjust lights from any touchscreen, smartphone and tablet running the Osbee Home app.
With centralized lighting, a wall switch goes beyond simply turning lights on, dimming them, or turning them off. With the “smart” multi-function keypads featured throughout this Osbee Home, each button is programmed to control lights (and shades if desired), or perform a preset customized to the family’s needs. For the keypad in the entryway, the first two buttons illuminate the foyer and the stairway at preset levels. The third turns the lights off the entire first floor as the family retires upstairs for the evening.
The large 15-inch wall-mounted touchscreen at the entrance to the Kitchen gives the family convenient one-touch control of the entire system. The keypad below provides quick, preset levels of illumination programmed for specific needs — from general ambient lighting suitable at the breakfast table to task lighting over the kitchen counter when it’s time to make dinner. A TV mounted on an articulating arm makes watching the morning news easy to view from anywhere in the room, to be neatly folded flat against the wall after breakfast is done.
The lighting design of the Family Room provides the prefect ambiance for casual entertaining with carefully placed accent lighting to highlight the artwork in the room.
An iPad lets the family select a movie from their movie library, control the volume of the audiophile bookshelf speakers, and adjust climate and lighting levels right from their seats.
Upon command via a handheld remote, touchscreen, or iPad, a 42-inch TV rises from its hiding place in the custom-built cabinet — the perfect way to bring a television into the Primary Bedroom without being intrusive. Selecting a custom preset, the motorized shades can be lowered at the same time as the TV rises, creating the optimal environment for television viewing.
Behind the scenes, the brain of every Osbee smart home is comprised of the centralized equipment racks, lighting modules, and thermostats tucked away and out of sight in the basement or a closet. Engineered for optimal performance, and ease of servicing and expansion, all equipment is installed and labelled with the same meticulous attention to detail as any of the design finishes in the home.
